Apple Mac Data Recovery Edinburgh

Mac Data recovery, Macbook Pro, Air, Retina and Imac. At JT Data Recovery We are Apple data recovery specialists.  You won’t find a better and more reliable data recovery service in Edinburgh for your Macbook.  Customers go to Apple with data recovery cases and then comes to us.  We have the training, the tools and the experience to help with any variant of Apple Data recovery in the Edinburgh area.  We also operate a postal/courier service for data recovery cases outwith the Edinburgh area.

Apple Mac Data Recovery

Macbook Pro Data Recovery

The the Apple Macbook Pro, these usually ship with a Toshiba or HGST hard drive from the factory.  The cooling on these models just isn’t up to the job.  A few years of use and the the fans get filled with dust.  This in turn makes the Mac run hotter than it should.  Eventually the hard drive begins to fail due to the high temperature inside.  The good news is the drive failure is usually recoverable if sent to a professional in recovering data.

Macbook Air Data Recovery

Macbook Air Data Recovery/Macbook Retina

The Macbook Air and Retina Macs are a completely different beasts when it comes to storage and data recovery.  These Macs use SSD drives (Solid State Drives).  These work in a completely different way to normal hard drives.  They have no moving parts and are very fast for data access but are generally much lower capacity.  These SSD Drives have a life span, they can only be read/written to so many time before the drive will fail.  Always be aware of this and have a backup for when the time comes.  When an SSD drive does fail retrieval can be complicated, compression and encryption of the data can be time consuming to overcome.

Apple Imac Data Recovery

Imac Data Recovery

The original Imac, brings back memories.  My sole purpose is to get your precious data back.  When possible we prefer the Apple Device to have the hard drive or SSD drive removed for us to get to work on straight away.  If this is not possible then we will do our best to help.  The drives insides these Imac’s are usually made by Seagate and Western Digital.  The latest ones are Hybrid drives (Hard drives with a solid state cache to make the drive faster).  From our experience the Seagate drives are the DM series of hard drives which are known to have various reliability issues throughout the data retreival industry.

We can help with:

  • External disk spinning up and beeping.
  • Internal drive spinning up and beeping.
